ABOUT INTERVAL TIMERS
Programming and Operation:
Interval timers are designed to provide a count down from a preset number to zero or from zero to a preset number. A series of intervals of varying lengths can be timed in a sequence and the series can be repeated a specific number of times or indefinitely. Horn and light signals are available. Programming is carried out with an IR Remote control which is effective to approximately 40 feet, or one of the wired keypads available as accessories.
Horn Models:
The basic model interval timers sound a horn at the beginning of each time interval and sound a longer signal at the end of the program. Three sounds are available, a single sound, a double sound or a triple sound are selected during the programming. As the program is being entered a letter key is used to mark the end of each time period. The A key provides a single sound, the B Key provides a double sound and the C key provides a triple sound. For example using the IR Remote keypad you might press the following keys: 230C 30B100A "ENTER". This program is now in the active memory and will start when ever the "START" key is pressed. When the program runs there will be a triple sound followed by a two and one half minute interval, a double sound followed by a thirty second interval and a single sound followed by a one minute interval. A long sound will complete the program. The timer will now run this program each time the "START" key is pressed until a different program is entered in the active memory. Three separate programs can be stored in memory and recalled as they are needed.
Light Models:
The stack light and tri-light models are programmed in the same manner as the horn models, however the lights are turned on for the duration of the time interval rather than just before and after as in the case of the horns. If we enter the same sample program as described above the result will be 2-1/2 minutes green, 30 seconds yellow and one minute red. Programming is just that simple.
Digit Size:
Interval Timers are made with two digit sizes 2-5/8 inches tall and 4 inches tall. The 2-5/8 inch tall digits are readable from about 90 feet and the four inch tall digits are readable from about 160 feet. These are red LED digits, intended for indoor use. They can not be seen in full sun light.
Programming made simple:
If you press the following keys; "1, 5, A, Enter", you will have entered a 15 second program. Each time the Start key is pressed, the timer will sound the horn once (the "A" horn), count 15 seconds, and sound the "End" horn. If you would like more intervals you might press the following keys; "1, 5, A, 4, 5, B, 2, 0, C, Enter". Now each time you press the Start key, the horn will sound once ("A" horn), there will be a fifteen second count, the horn will sound twice ("B" horn), followed by a forty five second count and the horn will sound three times ("C" horn), followed by a 20 second count and ending with the "End" horn. If you press the repeat key twice before you press the "Enter" key, the program will be repeated over and over until you stop it.
