Chronomix manufactures Interval Timers and Counters for measuring production rate. They are designed as stand alone units that can be easily set up and operated at a workstation. They require 110VAC power. No other support equipment or computers are needed. Actual progress can be recorded by pressing a button manually or by closing a dry contact with a limit switch, photocell or other sensing device connected to the production equipment.

Typical applications:

• Interval Timers. Interval Timers provide a countdown through a single interval or a series of intervals which establish the rate of normal production. The count down time is programmed by the user. For example, if a task is expected to take an average time of 2 minutes . 12 seconds, the timer will turn on a light, change color or sound a horn at that interval. The purpose is to alert the operator that the time has expired. In some cases it is important that other stations are also made aware of the difficulty at the timed station. Stack lights are available for 360 degree viewing.The timer can then be restarted manually or automatically. Some applications automatically trigger the restart when the product leaves the workstation. Many applications are programmed so that the light never comes on unless the task time is exceeded.

  Other applications have been used which program three colors to indicate different stages of the process such as a change over schedule of clean up, reload and run.

• Counters. Counters are made to keep track of a total count such as the number of items in a booth or dryer. By using limit switches on the conveyor entering and leaving the station, the number of items entering the station are added to the total and the number of items leaving the station are subtracted from the total, so the number of items currently in the station is continuously displayed.
• Target-Actual Counters. Target-Actual Counters display a count number instead of time, usually the number of tasks targeted to be completed and the number of tasks actually completed. The target is programmed as the length of time to complete one task or in the case of higher targets, the number to be completed in an hour. Any target rate from one per day to 7000 per hour can be entered as a program. The target number then increases at the set rate so that the actual completion can be continuously compared to the target completion.
