Part Numbers
In order to accomodate new computers which use USB connectors for serial ports rather than the 9 pin "D" connector, Chronmix has developed a USB converter to transfer data between Chronomix equipment and computers. The converter uses a 9 pin "D" connector on the equipment side and a USB connector on the computer side. A serial cable is required between the equipment and the converter. Any existing Chronomix data cable which has a 9 pin "D" connector for connecting to a computer may be used. If you do not have the appropriate serial cable, the part numbers are as follows.
| Cable | Connectors | Part Number |
| CC737 to Converter | Stereo Plug to 9 pin "D" | 110-0013 |
| CT600 to Converter | 9 pin "D" to 9 pin "D" | 110-1041 |
| CC7300 to Converter | 5 pin DIN to 9 pin "D" | 110-0037 |
| CC2000 to Converter | 4 pin AMP (F) to 9 pin "D" | 110-1021 |
| CC3000 to Converter         | 4 pin AMP (M) to 9 pin "D"         | 110-1029 |
Drivers
The first step is to download the driver from the internet and install it on your computer. Point your web browser to http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm and select the link for your type of computer and operating system.
The USB connection requires that drivers for this device be installed on the computer. We recommend you obtain the latest drivers for your computer from the internet.
Windows
After clicking the link for your operating system, you will be prompted to save the file. Click "Save" to start downloading it. Once the file is downloaded, you must unzip it. Remember where you unzipped the file as you will need to find it again. Now you are ready to plug the USB converter into your computer. The computer will detect the new device and prompt you for a driver. Select "SEARCH FOR THE BEST DRIVER FOR YOUR DEVICE" and press "NEXT". On the next dialog box, select "SPECIFY A LOCATION" and then click the "BROWSE" button to find and select the folder where you unzipped the driver files. Press "NEXT" and the driver will be installed. The USB/RS232 is now ready to be used. After this first installation, the driver will automatically load whenever you connect the USB/RS232 converter to your computer.
